27-year-old bipolar patient Uğur Çalışkan, who disappeared after tearing the mosquito net on his uncle's house window in Hatay, has gone missing. His uncle was shocked when he woke up in the morning and did not see his nephew in bed, so he checked the apartment's security camera. The father, who has not heard from his son for three days, is asking the authorities for help.
27-year-old Uğur Çalışkan, who lives in the Serinyol neighborhood of Antakya district in Hatay, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder due to a psychological disorder 3 years ago. To overcome his psychological disorder, Çalışkan, who uses medication, went down by tearing the mosquito net on the window of his uncle's house where he was staying as a guest three days ago in the early morning hours.
HE JUMPED OUT OF THE WINDOW AND DISAPPEARED
After jumping out of the window, Çalışkan wandered around for a while and tried to climb back into the building through the window but failed. In the footage captured by the camera, Çalışkan, who could not manage to enter the building he lived in, moved away from his home and disappeared. When his uncle Erdal Erbaş woke up in the morning and did not see his nephew in his room, he reviewed the building's camera recordings and saw the moments when his nephew left the house, and reported the situation to the gendarmerie teams, filing a missing person report. Father Abdurrahman Çalışkan stated that they were all saddened and requested support from the authorities and citizens for the return of his child.
"WE ARE DISTRESSED WITH HIS MOTHER, HE HAS BEEN MISSING FOR 3 DAYS"
Father Abdurrahman Çalışkan, who said that his child has been missing for 3 days, expressed their sorrow, saying, "My son Uğur Çalışkan was 27 years old and a very polite person. My son was a psychiatric patient; his psychological disorder started 3 years ago. I was not here, but his uncle can explain better. He had no problems when he was with me, but now his mother and I are in distress; my son has been missing for 3 days. His mother was already sick and is more upset. I am asking for help from the state to find him," he said.
"HE TRIED TO CLIMB BACK INTO THE BUILDING BUT COULDN'T"
Erdal Erbaş, who said that his nephew tore the mosquito net on the window and left the house and that they had not found any trace despite searching for 3 days, stated, "He was a young nephew, a very polite person, but he has some psychological issues. When I asked my nephew if he was taking his medication, he said he was. When I asked if he wanted to go to the hometown, he said no, but if we go together, it would be fine. We were going to leave in the morning; when we woke up at 9 in the morning, he was staying in another room. When I checked his room, my nephew was not there. I thought maybe he went to the bathroom, but he wasn't there either. When I looked into his room, the window was open. When I looked at the window, the mosquito net was torn, and I hesitated. We looked around but couldn't find him. Then we called the building owner and checked the cameras. When we looked at the camera, my nephew had jumped out of the window and crossed to the opposite building. He tried to come back to the building and climb up, but he couldn't. This time he went towards the other side. I have been searching for him for 2 days, and today is the 3rd day. We have not received any trace for 3 days. We called the gendarmerie and I filed a missing person report. His mother and father are devastated. We have been searching here for 3 days, and everyone is distressed. My nephew disappeared here. He disappeared right in front of my eyes; we are devastated. I wonder where my nephew went, whether he fell or is hungry; we don't know. Of course, we are worried about his life-threatening situation, and we are very anxious right now," he expressed.
