According to a Washington Post report based on two unnamed sources, a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at Camp David last week saw tension over ammunition stockpiles. The report claimed that Trump demanded an explanation from Hegseth regarding the serious depletion of stockpiles in long-range guided missiles and air defense interceptor missiles.
According to the report, the depletion in the US's long-range missile and air defense ammunition was instrumental in the Trump administration's decision to postpone new large-scale military operations against Iran for now. The claim noted that during this process, the administration has prioritized the path of renegotiation with Tehran over military options. Following the public reflection of these claims, the White House and the Pentagon made consecutive statements. In the statements, these claims were defended as "completely false and fabricated."
