A new statement has come from Bülent Arınç, who was accused by Selahattin Demirtaş of claiming that Demirtaş had requested a meeting with President Erdoğan and that he no longer thinks about politics. Arınç said, "There is no 'distortion' or 'fabrication' in any of the sentences I conveyed. I stand behind the accuracy of my statements. I would like to express that I am hurt."
Bülent Arınç claimed that Selahattin Demirtaş, whom he met in prison, wanted to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and said he would withdraw from active politics. Demirtaş denied these allegations in a statement.
ARINÇ'S DENIAL TO DEMİRTAŞ
A new statement has come from Bülent Arınç. Denying Demirtaş, Arınç stated that there was no distortion or fabrication in his words. Arınç said he was hurt by Demirtaş.
"THERE IS NO DISTORTION OR FABRICATION IN ANY SENTENCE"
Arınç's statement is as follows: "After visiting Mr. Selahattin Demirtaş in prison, I sincerely shared my impressions and some anecdotes with the public regarding our meeting. I want to say very clearly that there is no 'distortion' or 'fabrication' in any sentence I conveyed. I stand behind the accuracy of the statements. Moreover, there was no discussion between us during or after our meeting regarding the confidentiality of the content of our conversation. I cannot accept the terms 'distortion' and 'fabrication' he used in his statement today. Such a thing has not occurred in my nearly 50-year political life; I cannot allow it to be tarnished.
I have enough political experience to understand the reason for his statement today and which groups may have convinced him of the necessity of this statement. I am very sorry for them…
"I UNDERSTAND THE CONDITIONS DEMİRTAŞ IS IN VERY WELL"
I have always expressed my thoughts on his detention from a legal perspective, independent of the political atmosphere. I understand very well the conditions Mr. Demirtaş is in; that is why I went to visit him. I cannot comprehend how 9 years of a person's life can be taken away in this way. Mr. Demirtaş must also realize that today we are caught between well-meaning people and malicious individuals.
"I WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS THAT I AM HURT"
For him to escape the conditions he is in, the good people need to be a bit stronger. The concepts of conscience, justice, and compassion need to be much more discussed today and take place in hearts. It is necessary to cast aside feelings of hatred and revenge and instead accept people as human beings, consider the rights of others, and keep in mind the accountability in the afterlife. I am working for this.
I am not angry with Mr. Demirtaş for the ideas he shared with the public today, but I would like to express that I am hurt. My thoughts on his detention remain the same. I hope he reunites with his family and loved ones as soon as possible."
