In Aydın, along with the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Özlem Çerçioğlu, the Mayor of Söke Mustafa İberya Arıkan, the Mayor of Yenipazar Malik Ercan, and the Mayor of Sultanhisar Osman Yıldırımkaya also resigned from the CHP.

After the resignation of Özlem Çerçioğlu, the Mayor of Aydın, three more district mayors announced that they have left the Republican People's Party (CHP).

HERE ARE THE NAMES OF THOSE WHO RESIGNED

Söke Mayor Mustafa İberya Arıkan, Yenipazar Mayor Malik Ercan, and Sultanhisar Mayor Osman Yıldırımkaya announced that they have resigned from their parties.

ÖZLEM ÇERÇEİOĞLU ANNOUNCED

Özlem Çerçioğlu stated in a post on her X account, "As the Mayor of Aydın Metropolitan Municipality, my three mayors and I have repeatedly sought solutions to the problems we face within the Republican People's Party at the party's authorized offices, but unfortunately, we have not reached a conclusion."

Stating that there is no longer an opportunity to engage in politics within the Republican People's Party, Çerçioğlu said, "I am resigning from party membership as I see fit."

Çerçioğlu made the following statement:

"As the Mayor of Aydın Metropolitan Municipality, my three mayors and I have repeatedly sought solutions to the problems we face within the Republican People's Party at the party's authorized offices, but unfortunately, we have not reached a conclusion. Due to the anti-democratic practices experienced, as well as my fundamental principles and the principles of honesty, service within the framework of laws, and not compromising on public morality that I owe to the people of Aydın and my family, I can no longer walk the same path as the Republican People's Party."

"THERE IS NO LONGER AN OPPORTUNITY TO ENGAGE IN POLITICS IN CHP"

I especially want it to be known that despite expressing our demands for honesty, morality, and compliance with the laws at every level to prevent reaching this point, my family and I have been targeted. As a result, since there is no longer an opportunity to engage in politics within the Republican People's Party and as I see fit, I am resigning from party membership. Just as I have served until now, I will continue to serve the people of Aydın with the same principles without any discrimination, and no citizen should have any doubt about that. I greet all the citizens of Aydın with my respects."
