Three suspects were taken into custody on Tuesday when a handwritten Torah and objects believed to be historical artifacts were seized in northwestern Turkey, according to a security source.
Gendarmerie teams in Bursa province stopped two vehicles during road controls in Mudanya district and searched the automobiles, said the source who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
An object with gold embroidered crocodile skin with pictures and figures on it was found along with the Torah that is believed to be a manuscript, a Hebrew book, 20 colored stones of different types and sizes and two paintings with human figures on stone.
