Trabzonspor experienced a first in the history of the Super League.

The 18th week of the Trendyol Super League witnessed the Black Sea derby between Samsunspor and Trabzonspor. The rising team of the league, Samsunspor, defeated Trabzonspor, which has struggled for consistency this season in the Super League, with a score of 2-1.

Both teams' fans showed great interest in the match played in Samsun during the Black Sea derby. The Samsun Yeni 19 Mayıs Stadium, with a capacity of 33,919, was completely filled by the red-and-white fans. The burgundy-blue fans also did not leave their team alone, purchasing all 1,608 tickets allocated to them. After a goalless first half, Samsunspor took the lead with Carlo Holse's goal in the 30th minute, making it 1-0. While the first half ended with Samsunspor's lead, Trabzonspor started the second half with a goal. Simon Banza equalized the score for the burgundy-blues in the 49th minute. Holse, who scored the first goal for Samsunspor, also netted the second goal for his team. Holse once again put Samsunspor ahead in the 75th minute. No more goals were scored in the remaining part of the match, and Samsunspor left the field with a victory.

SAMSUNSPOR REMAINS UNDEFEATED AT HOME

With the victory over Trabzonspor, Samsunspor continued its unbeaten streak at home. After losing the first two matches of the league, the red-and-white team did not lose to their opponents in the seven matches they played at home. During this period, Samsunspor achieved five victories and two draws.

TRABZONSPOR'S LOWEST POINT SEASON

Following this result, Trabzonspor experienced five consecutive away defeats under the same head coach for the first time in the history of the Super League. Moreover, the Black Sea team has not won any of the away matches they played this season in the Super League. The burgundy-blues had drawn in the first four matches.

Having secured all their victories at home this season and remaining at 19 points after the defeat to Samsunspor, Trabzonspor is experiencing its lowest point season in history at the 17th match stage.

With this result, Trabzonspor remained at 19 points in the league. Samsunspor, on the other hand, rose to 33 points. Thomas Reis's team, Samsunspor, is in third place in the league with 33 points, following Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. Trabzonspor will face Antalyaspor at home in the next week of the league. The burgundy-blues will host Alanyaspor in the Turkish Cup match on Wednesday in the middle of the week. Samsunspor will go to Kayserispor for an away match next week.
