On the third day of the Eid al-Adha, holidaymakers returning from their hometowns created traffic congestion in Kırıkkale, a 'key junction' located on the route of 43 provinces. With just one day left until the end of the Eid al-Adha holiday, citizens began their journey back home. Kırıkkale, which is referred to as a 'key junction' due to being the intersection point of the highways connecting 43 provinces, has started to experience traffic congestion.
TRAFFIC CONGESTION IS EXPECTED TO LAST ALL DAY
Long vehicle queues formed, especially on the Ankara-Kırıkkale highway. Police and gendarmerie teams continued to implement traffic and security measures that were initiated days in advance. Some junctions along the route were closed to turns to speed up traffic flow. Traffic congestion is expected to continue today as well.
