Vladimir Medinskiy, who chaired the Russian delegation at the summit in Istanbul, stated that they sent refrigerated trucks carrying the bodies of 1,212 soldiers to the border as part of the agreement, but Ukraine unexpectedly postponed the exchange and did not come to receive the bodies.

Photos released to the press show trucks full of bodies waiting on the border road in the Bryansk region, while the Russian side emphasized that they are ready to implement all agreements made in Istanbul and called on Kiev to immediately start the process.

Medinskiy stated in a message on his Telegram channel that the contact group from the Ministry of Defense is at the border, and he noted: "The Ukrainian side unexpectedly postponed the acceptance of the bodies and the prisoner exchange indefinitely. For some reason, the group from Ukraine did not come for the exchange. The reasons they provided are strange. We call on Kiev to strictly adhere to the schedule and all agreements reached and to start the exchange immediately. As agreed, we need to give 1,200 soldiers from all sides the opportunity to return home. Additionally, we call for the return of the frozen bodies of 6,000 Ukrainian soldiers. We are ready and prepared to work."

Deputy Head of the Information Department of the General Staff, Aleksandr Zorin, who was part of the Russian delegation in the negotiations with Ukraine, stated that they have started the work to implement the agreements reached in Istanbul today.
Noting that the Ukrainian side did not approve the exchange planned for today and postponed it indefinitely, Zorin stated, "I confirm that we are ready to implement all agreements reached in Istanbul. We are ready to deliver all the bodies and carry out the exchange of captured soldiers according to the established formula."
