A taxi that was about to enter the training facilities in Sivas was hit by a car coming from the opposite direction. In the horrific accident, 6 people were injured, including 4 players from the Sivasspor U13 team. One vehicle caught fire due to the impact of the collision, and it was reported that the life of the seriously injured young footballer Burak Şahin is still in danger.
In Sivas, 6 people were injured, including 4 youth football players, as a result of a collision between a taxi returning to enter the Sivasspor facilities and a car coming from the opposite direction.
COLLIDED HEAD-ON WITH THE TAXI
The accident occurred around 1:00 PM in the Gültepe neighborhood on the Ankara-Erzincan highway in front of the Sivasspor Facilities. A taxi with the license plate 58 T 0646, driven by Hasan Ö., was hit by a car with the license plate 58 ABY 275, driven by İsa Ü., coming from the opposite direction. The impact caused the car to spin, and the vehicle caught fire. Emergency services, including health, fire, AFAD, and police teams, were dispatched to the scene upon notification. The drivers of both vehicles and youth players Ayaz Şentürk, Burak Şahin, Ebubekir Atıcı, and Ahmet Talha Yılmaz, who were in the taxi belonging to Sivasspor's U13 team, were injured. First aid was provided to the injured at the scene by health teams. The injured were later taken to ambulances and transferred to various hospitals in the city for treatment. It was reported that Burak Şahin's life was in danger.
CLUB MADE A STATEMENT
After the accident, Sivasspor Club issued a written statement. The statement said, "In the traffic accident that occurred in front of our club facilities today, the vehicle containing 4 of our athletes from the U13 team, who wear our youth jersey, was involved in the accident. The health status of our athletes, who were on their way to our facilities for ball collecting duties before the match against Istanbulspor, has been closely monitored by our health teams immediately after the incident. Detailed checks regarding the general health status of our players, who received first aid, are ongoing, and our club is meticulously following the process. We would like to inform the public that we stand by our athletes and their families. We extend our best wishes for a speedy recovery to our athletes and their families, especially due to this unfortunate incident," it said.
