Businessman Sadettin Saran was summoned for questioning in the illegal betting investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in the previous weeks. Saran, who arrived at the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan under police escort, left the courthouse after giving his statement to the Cyber Crimes Investigation Bureau. It was learned that the court imposed a travel ban on Sadettin Saran as part of the same investigation. JUDICIAL CONTROL DECISION WAS MADEAccording to the news from Oda Tv; in the decision made by the Istanbul 8th Criminal Court of Peace, it was stated, "The suspect Steven Sadettin Saran is placed under judicial control by being prohibited from leaving the country until a public case is filed against him in accordance with Article 109/3-a of the Criminal Procedure Code..." The regulation mentioned in the investigation regarding the application of judicial control on Saran, "violation of Article 5(c) of Law No. 7258," states that "persons who mediate the transfer of money related to fixed-odds or joint betting or games of chance based on sports competitions shall be punished with imprisonment from three to five years and a judicial fine of up to five thousand days."
