US President Donald Trump stated, "We have just signed the biggest oil deal in world history with Venezuela!" US President Donald Trump said they have reached "the largest oil deal in world history" with Venezuela and gained control over most of Venezuela's more than 65 billion barrels of oil reserves.
In his statement, Trump noted that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth have been working closely with Venezuela's Interim President Delcy Rodriguez on the matter. Trump, stating that the US has gained control over most of Venezuela's more than 65 billion barrels of oil reserves through a partnership with the private sector, said, "We have just signed the largest oil deal in world history with Venezuela!"
"US OIL RESERVES WILL MORE THAN DOUBLE"
Trump argued that the deal will more than double US oil reserves and significantly strengthen the country's oil supply.
RODRIGUEZ ALSO CONFIRMED
Venezuela's Interim President Delcy Rodriguez also confirmed that they have made an oil deal with the US and thanked US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Rodriguez noted that they are experiencing a "historic turning point" in relations with the US and stated that the agreement will allow for a "significant increase" in oil production with the participation of private sector representatives.
"WILL BRING OVER $209 BILLION IN TAXES TO THE STATE"
Within the scope of the agreement reached with the US, Rodriguez stated that the development of 17 strategic fields is envisaged, which will bring "65 billion barrels of proven potential, over $100 billion in investment, and more than $209 billion in tax revenue to the state."
Rodriguez added that the historic oil deal will provide a "significant flow of investment" for the "revival and reconstruction of the strategic infrastructure" aimed at developing Venezuela's hydrocarbon industry, which holds the world's largest proven crude oil reserves.
Emphasizing the importance of these investments, Rodriguez said, "These investments will contribute not only to the revival and modernization of our industry, but also to the economic growth of our country, the energy security of our hemisphere, and the achievement of greater balance in international markets."
