U.S. President Donald Trump made a new statement regarding the Iran war. Speaking at a press conference, Trump pointed to Hark Island, which has a significant role in Iran's oil production, saying, "We have destroyed almost everything on Hark Island. We did not only destroy the oil facilities because we will need to rebuild Iran. However, the destruction depends on how you look at it."

U.S. President Donald Trump spoke at a press conference. In his statements regarding the latest situation in the Iran war, Trump claimed that they had largely destroyed Tehran's military capacity.

TRUMP'S STATEMENT ON HARK ISLAND

Reminding of the attacks on Hark Island, which is of great importance for Iran's oil production, Trump threatened that the island could be completely destroyed if he wanted.

"WE HAVE DESTROYED ALMOST EVERYTHING ON HARK ISLAND"

Trump said: "We have destroyed almost everything on Hark Island. If we want, we can destroy it in 5 minutes. We did not only destroy the oil facilities because we will need to rebuild Iran. However, destruction depends on a word of mine."

"WE SUNK NEARLY 30 MINESWEEPING SHIPS IN HORMUZ"

We are eliminating all military facilities. Their military capacities are close to zero. We sunk nearly 30 minesweeping ships in the Strait of Hormuz. A total of 100 ships have been sunk."

THE U.S. HAD STRUCK HARK ISLAND

U.S. President Donald Trump stated on March 14 that they targeted Iran's Hark Island, claiming that "all military targets here have been completely destroyed." Trump expressed that he preferred not to attack the oil infrastructure on the island, but he would reconsider this decision if the free and safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz was interfered with.

Iran reported that there were no civilian or military casualties in the U.S. attack on Hark Island and that oil exports continued normally.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded to Trump's threats to attack energy facilities by saying, "If our energy facilities are targeted, we will target the facilities of American companies in the region."

CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper also emphasized on March 13 that more than 90 Iranian military targets, including storage bunkers for naval mines and missiles, were destroyed in the precise airstrike on Iran's Hark Island.

THE IMPORTANCE OF HARK ISLAND FOR IRAN

Hark Island is the most strategic terminal that is the lifeline of Iran, serving as the main exit point for more than 90% of the country's crude oil exports. Thanks to its location in the Persian Gulf, the island has deep-water ports that allow large tankers to dock, making it not only an economic center for the Tehran administration but also a geopolitical card that could shake global energy markets in the event of a potential conflict. Any disruption in the region means paralysis of the Iranian economy and a serious crisis in the world oil supply, making Hark Island both the country's most valuable asset and the "red line" at the center of its defense strategy.
