Trump Dismisses National Security Advisor John Bolton

US president says he will appoint a successor next week.

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he has fired National Security Advisor John Bolton, vowing to appoint a successor next week.
Trump said on Twitter that he informed Bolton of his decision Monday night.
"I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning," Trump said. "I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week." -
