U.S. President Donald Trump said, "We will decide on additional tariffs on Iran based on whether or not they reach an agreement. If they do not reach an agreement, there will be bombing."
US President Trump evaluated the agenda for the press while returning from Florida, where he spent the weekend, to Washington. In response to a question about whether additional sanctions would be imposed on Iran, Trump said, "There are a few additional sanctions items. We have additional tariffs on Iran, and if we don't see any progress, we will implement them within a few weeks. We are not implementing them at the moment."
Trump stated, "Regarding additional tariffs on Iran, we will decide based on whether they will make an agreement. If they are going to make an agreement, then we will never impose new tariffs." Emphasizing that he prefers Iran to come to an agreement, Trump argued that otherwise, it would not be good for Tehran. He also added that he believes the Iranian government will reach an agreement on nuclear issues.
"I'M VERY ANGRY"
Speaking to NBC News, US President Donald Trump made evaluations about Russia and Iran. The US President said, "If they don't make an agreement, there will be bombing." He also mentioned the possibility of imposing tariffs on Iran "like he did four years ago."
In an interview with Fox Business Network on March 7, US President Donald Trump revealed that he sent a letter to Iranian leader Ali Khamenei. Trump stated, "I wrote them a letter saying, 'I hope you negotiate because if we have to go in militarily, it will be a terrible thing.'
Khamenei, in a speech on March 8, stated that the US wants to impose its demands and establish dominance, rather than solving problems with the request for negotiations, and said that Iran would not accept this. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also said on March 11 regarding Trump's threats, "I will not negotiate with you because you are threatening. Do whatever you want."
Finally, it was reported in the international press that Iran was considering a proposal to hold indirect talks with the US through the United Arab Emirates. The two countries had previously held various levels of indirect talks through Oman.
