U.S. President Donald Trump is making statements at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Before this speech, Trump's Special Representative Steve Witkoff described the upcoming speech as a "speech that will change the world."
U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Davos, Switzerland, to address the World Economic Forum amid an unprecedented tension with Washington's closest allies due to his attempts to make Greenland a part of the United States. Trump's arrival in Davos was delayed due to a technical issue on Air Force One, which the White House described as a "minor electrical malfunction."
"WHAT WE WILL DO HERE WILL CHANGE THE WORLD"
U.S. Middle East Representative Witkoff specifically mentioned President Trump's 'Peace Board' project in a live interview before Trump's speech. Witkoff said, "What we will do here (in Davos), what the President will do, will change the world."
Here are the highlights from Trump's statements in Davos;
"History shows that when America goes bad, the whole world goes bad too. When we fall, you fall; when we rise, you rise. We are opening energy plants instead of closing them. Instead of building ineffective and loss-making wind turbines, we are dismantling them and not approving the construction of new ones.
"VENEZUELA WAS A GREAT COUNTRY 20 YEARS AGO"
Instead of empowering bureaucrats, we are dismissing them, and they go find jobs in the private sector. Europe is not recognizable, it is not on the right path. Venezuela was a great country 20 years ago, but now it has problems. But we are helping them. The attack has ended, and they said, 'let's make a deal.' More people should do this.
Germany is currently producing 22% less electricity compared to 2017. This is not the current Chancellor's fault. He is working to solve the problem and will succeed.
"SELLING TO STUPID PEOPLE FOR A FORTUNE"
I noticed that the more wind turbines there are in a country, the more money that country loses and the worse the situation gets. Almost all wind turbines are produced by China. Nevertheless, I can't say that I found wind farms in China. China is very smart. They produce them, sell them to stupid people for a fortune, but they do not use them themselves.
"NO ONE OUTSIDE THE U.S. CAN PROTECT GREENLAND"
No country or group of countries outside the United States is capable of ensuring the security of Greenland. We are a great power, much greater than people think. I think they saw this two weeks ago in Venezuela as well. We experienced this in World War II. Denmark was defeated by Germany after only six hours of conflict and was not in a position to defend itself or Greenland. At that point, the United States had to take action. We saw this as a duty, and we sent our forces to hold onto Greenland. If we hadn't won in World War II, you would all be speaking either Japanese or German. When we gave Greenland to Denmark, it wasn't that important at the time."
