Trump: Ukraine's advancement into Russian territory could lead to a world war.

27.08.2024 14:11

Donald Trump spoke at the National Guard Association conference. He criticized the withdrawal from Afghanistan, arguing that this decision has led to global chaos. He warned that the Ukraine-Russia conflict could lead to World War III. He mentioned that the US is facing ammunition shortages. He emphasized that NATO members should increase their defense spending to 3% of GDP. Trump claimed that he prevented wars during his presidency.

Former President of the United States (US) and Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump claimed that Ukraine's progress in Russian territory could lead to a world war. Trump said, "Look at what's happening in Ukraine. They are advancing in Russian territory. World War III will break out."

Speaking at the National Guard Association conference in Detroit, Trump argued that the current chaos in many parts of the world began with the US withdrawal from Afghanistan.

"THE MOST EMBARRASSING DAY IN AMERICAN HISTORY"

Trump described the day the US withdrew from Afghanistan as the most embarrassing day in American history, stating that this development triggered conflicts around the world. Trump emphasized that the withdrawal from Afghanistan destroyed the trust in the US and led to Russia's entry into Ukraine. He said, "That's why the attack on October 7th in Israel happened. That's why we're not respected. We're not respected."

Trump said, "We should have withdrawn honorably and powerfully. Bagram Air Base should never have been left. It's one of the largest air bases in the world, an hour away from where China produces nuclear weapons. We left it, we left everything. China took over. It's now under China's control, can you imagine?"

"AFGHANISTAN BECAME ONE OF THE WORLD'S LARGEST WEAPON SELLERS"

Trump emphasized that the US left $85 billion worth of weapons and military equipment in Afghanistan, stating, "Do you know that Afghanistan has become one of the world's largest weapon sellers? They are selling the weapons we foolishly left behind. We left behind $85 billion worth of new tanks, planes, and even binoculars. They couldn't fight at night because they didn't have night vision capabilities. Now they can fight. It's unbelievable. These people who allowed this to happen are fools. We became a laughingstock all over the world."

WARNING ABOUT THE THIRD WORLD WAR

Trump said, "The whole world is in chaos. If something is not done quickly, we will face World War III. Due to nuclear power and other existing capacities, this will not be like previous world wars."

Trump claimed that Ukraine's progress in Russian territory could lead to a world war, saying, "Look at what's happening in Ukraine. They are advancing in Russian territory. World War III will break out."

Trump emphasized that he prevented wars and prevented harm to American soldiers during his presidency, recalling that he ordered the withdrawal of 5,000 American soldiers from the Turkey-Syria border. Trump said, "I called one of our generals and asked if 5,000 soldiers could serve a good purpose when there is an army of 400,000 on one side and 300,000 on the other. They said, 'No, sir, it won't work.' I told them to withdraw immediately."

"WE HAVE NO AMMUNITION LEFT"

Trump said that the US gave all its ammunition to Ukraine and other countries, including Ukraine, and that its ammunition was depleted. He said, "We have no ammunition left. We had so many missiles that we didn't know if we could use them all. We were organizing new depots because all our depots were full. Now we've reached a point where we have no ammunition left."

"NATO'S MINIMUM DEFENSE SPENDING SHOULD BE INCREASED TO 3%"

Trump emphasized that the US is trying to cover the gap created by other countries in NATO with its defense spending and said that during his presidency, he would insist that NATO member countries spend at least 3% of their gross domestic product (GDP) on defense. Trump said, "Our allies must bear the burden fairly. All NATO member countries that spend less than 2% of their GDP on their military are putting our forces in a difficult situation. We will insist that every NATO member country spend 3% to eliminate the gap and help us counter threats."
