TUIK: In August, Trade Sales Volume Increased by 5.3% Year-on-Year.

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, the trade sales volume increased by 5.3% year-on-year in August, while the retail sales volume rose by 13.3%. Although vehicle sales in Turkey are typically highest during the summer months, it is noteworthy that vehicle sales saw a decline in wholesale retail prices in August.

VEHICLE SALES DECREASED

TÜİK announced the trade sales volume index data for August. Accordingly, the trade sales volume increased by 5.3% in August compared to the same month of the previous year. In the same month, the sales volume for the wholesale and retail trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles decreased by 1%, while the wholesale trade sales volume increased by 3.1%. Although the highest vehicle sales in Turkey occur during the summer months, the decrease in wholesale and retail prices of vehicle sales in August drew attention. The retail trade sales volume showed an increase of 13.3%. The trade sales volume in August of this year increased by 2.9% compared to the previous month. In the same month, the sales volume for the wholesale and retail trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased by 1.8%, and the wholesale trade sales volume increased by 3.5%. The retail trade sales volume increased by 2.2%.
