Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index falls some 1.2 points from previous close.

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,090.61 points, inching down slightly 1.19 points or 0.11% on Thursday.

At Wednesday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.43% to 1,091.80 points with a daily trading volume of 23 billion Turkish liras ($3.2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 7.0740 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, up from Wednesday's closing rate of 7.0340.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.4130, versus 8.3780, and one British pound was traded for 9.3350 Turkish liras. It was 9.4200 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $45.38 as of 10 a.m. local time on Thursday. -
