According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), the country's exports in January increased by 5.8% compared to the same period last year, recording 21 billion 164 million 177 thousand dollars. Jewelry exports, on the other hand, showed an increase of 148.5% compared to January 2024, reaching 1 billion 163 million 994 thousand dollars, the highest January figure ever. The sector had achieved 468.3 million dollars in foreign sales in January last year. Furthermore, it was calculated that the jewelry sector's exports in January accounted for 16% of the sector's total foreign sales in 2024. JEWELRY SECTOR'S EXPORTS ACCOUNTED FOR 5.5% OF TOTAL EXPORTS

In January, the jewelry sector's exports were calculated to account for 5.5% of total exports. Looking at the export figures of the jewelry sector's subcategories, 904.5 million dollars worth of jewelry and goldsmith items made of gold, 211.7 million dollars worth of raw or semi-processed gold, 29.5 million dollars worth of jewelry and goldsmith items made of silver, 13 million dollars worth of raw or semi-processed silver, 1.9 million dollars worth of scrap from precious metals or metals coated with precious metals, 544.4 thousand dollars worth of cultured pearls, precious and semi-precious stones and items made from them, 968.8 thousand dollars worth of watches, parts, and components coated with precious metals, 1.1 million dollars worth of imitation jewelry items, 520.3 thousand dollars worth of other raw or semi-processed precious metals, and 186.8 thousand dollars worth of other items made from precious metals were exported.

THE MOST EXPORTS TO THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

The highest exports in the jewelry sector were made to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with 607.8 million dollars, followed by Switzerland with 126.6 million dollars, the USA with 97 million dollars, Hong Kong with 50.8 million dollars, and Kyrgyzstan with 38.1 million dollars. In terms of value, the UAE topped the list for export growth. In January, the jewelry sector's exports to the country increased by 503.1 million dollars. Following the UAE in export growth were Switzerland with 107.2 million dollars, the USA with 48.3 million dollars, Kyrgyzstan with 32.5 million dollars, and the United Kingdom with 25.6 million dollars. The jewelry sector exported 30.6 million dollars to the United Kingdom.

THE MOST EXPORTS FROM ISTANBUL

When looking at the provinces, the highest exports in the jewelry sector in January were made from Istanbul, amounting to 888.8 million dollars. During the same period, jewelry exports from Çorum amounted to 271.9 million dollars, from Ankara to 1.8 million dollars, from Izmir to 817 thousand dollars, from Kahramanmaraş to 262 thousand dollars, and from Adana to 143 thousand dollars.
