Turkish open water swimmers Yasemin Altıntaş and Murat Öz were attacked by a shark while attempting to cross the Molokai Channel in Hawaii, USA. Murat Öz was bitten on the waist and injured, while Yasemin Altıntaş escaped the attack without any injuries. Their goal for the course was left unfulfilled, and the athletes were taken to the nearest hospital.

Yasemin Altıntaş and Murat Öz, who represent Turkey in international open water swimming, were attacked by a shark while swimming to cross the Molokai Channel off the coast of Hawaii, USA.

THEY WERE ATTACKED BY A SHARK

While attempting to cross the Molokai Channel in Hawaii, USA, Altıntaş and Öz were attacked by a shark. Öz was bitten on the waist and injured, while Altıntaş escaped the incident without injury.

As a result of the shark attack, in which Murat Öz sustained a deep wound to his waist, the duo's course target remained unfinished, and the Turkish athletes were taken to the nearest hospital on the shore by their teammates. Altıntaş escaped the attack without injury.
