Two people on a motorcycle died when a car hit a parked motorcycle in the Reşadiye district of Tokat. A third vehicle involved in the accident was also identified.
Çetin Coşkun (24) and Semih Özer (21) lost their lives on a parked motorcycle hit by a car in the Reşadiye district of Tokat.
The accident occurred at night on the Tokat-Reşadiye D 100 highway at the Çayırpınar village Ata Küçük Industrial Site location. A car with license plate 60 FC 230, driven by C.Y.F. (24) heading from Reşadiye towards Niksar, struck a parked motorcycle with license plate 60 TK 017 on the right side of the road. In the accident, Çetin Coşkun (24) and Semih Özer (21) on the motorcycle were seriously injured, while F.K. (35) in the car was lightly injured. Health and police teams were dispatched to the area upon notification. After initial medical intervention, the injured were taken to Reşadiye State Hospital. Despite all efforts by doctors, Çetin Coşkun and Semih Özer could not be saved. It was learned that F.K.'s health condition is good.
THIRD VEHICLE DETECTED IN CAMERA REVIEW
Following the accident, police teams reviewed security cameras in the area. The investigation revealed that another vehicle with license plate 60 M 2028, which signaled left at the industrial junction and then made a sudden maneuver to turn right, contributed to the occurrence of the accident. The unlicensed driver of that vehicle, A.O.T. (20), and the driver of the car involved in the accident, C.Y.F., were taken into custody.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
