It was stated that Tedesco's illness began while traveling to England for the UEFA Europa League match against Nottingham Forest. It was reported that the first intervention for the young coach, who fell ill after the match, was made by the club doctors in the locker room.

It was reported that the 40-year-old coach, who was treated at Ataşehir Medicana Hospital upon returning to Istanbul, had his infection turn into pneumonia. It was learned that Tedesco stayed in the hospital for about 2.5 days and was then discharged to continue treatment at home.
