Contrary to the statements made by Donald Trump, U.S. and Israeli intelligence indicated that the attacks carried out on Iran last week did not destroy facilities critical to Iran's nuclear program. The White House spokesperson, however, rejected this assessment.
Assessments made by US and Israeli intelligence found that the attacks carried out by the US on Iran's nuclear facilities last week did not destroy the facilities that are crucial for Iran's nuclear program.
"US ATTACKS DID NOT DESTROY IRAN'S NUCLEAR ELEMENTS"
US and Israeli intelligence claimed that the attacks carried out by the US on Iran's nuclear facilities last week did not destroy the facilities that are crucial for Iran's nuclear program. A preliminary assessment conducted by US intelligence indicated that the attacks on three nuclear facilities in Iran last week did not destroy the fundamental elements of Iran's nuclear program and likely only caused a few months' delay in the program.
"THIS SO-CALLED ASSESSMENT IS COMPLETELY WRONG"
Reports in the US media stated that this assessment contradicts US President Donald Trump's statements claiming that Iran's nuclear facilities were completely destroyed, and it was rejected by White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt. Leavitt said, "This so-called assessment is completely wrong."
"DELAYED IRAN'S NUCLEAR PROGRAM BY A FEW YEARS"
A report shared by Israeli intelligence stated that the US attacks delayed Iran's nuclear program by "a few years" but did not completely destroy it. A senior Israeli official stated in an interview with Israeli media that the US attacks were beneficial nonetheless and that results were achieved that could not be obtained through negotiations. Israeli media also shared the assessment that the attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities would be deterrent in preventing Iran from attempting to enrich uranium again.
US ATTACK ON IRAN'S NUCLEAR FACILITIES
The US military had carried out attacks on Iran's Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities with B-2 Spirit bombers on June 22. After the attacks, Trump stated that Iran's three nuclear facilities were completely destroyed.
