U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated on Sunday that the war with Iran will end within a few weeks, providing one of the most definitive timelines from a Cabinet member since the joint U.S.-Israel attacks began on February 28.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright stated, "The war between the U.S. and Israel and Iran may end in the coming weeks."

"CONFLICT WILL END IN A FEW WEEKS"

Wright said in an interview with ABC News, "This conflict will definitely end within the next few weeks," and added, "it could even be sooner than that."

Wright expressed that Americans will continue to feel the effects of high gasoline prices for a few more weeks, but they should expect relief when the conflict ends. Still, he spoke cautiously, noting that "there are never guarantees in wars."

"IRAN IS THE GREATEST THREAT TO GLOBAL ENERGY SUPPLY"

Describing short-term disruptions as "a necessary cost," Wright said in a separate statement to CNBC that the administration anticipates short-term energy outages. Identifying Iran as "the greatest threat to global energy supply," Wright stated, "We will be in a much better position when we move to the other side."

"THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ IS NOT SAFE FOR SHIPPING"

When asked whether the Strait of Hormuz is safe for shipping, he directly replied, "No, it is not." While discussing concerns that oil prices could rise above $200 per barrel, he indicated that pricing would depend on when the conflict ends, dismissing Iran's warnings.

Wright's statements came during a period in which more than 1,200 people, including the then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, lost their lives in the joint attacks by the U.S. and Israel on Iran.

U.S.-ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON IRAN

Israel and the U.S. launched a military attack on Iran on February 28 while negotiations were ongoing between Tehran and Washington. Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where U.S. bases are located, in addition to Israel.

In the U.S.-Israel attacks, many high-ranking officials, including Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed. According to Iranian officials, the death toll from the U.S.-Israel attacks exceeded 1,348, and the number of injured surpassed 17,000.
