A donor has been found for the actor Ufuk Özkan, who is being treated for liver failure. Salih Kıvırcık, a cameraman they worked with for a period, will donate a piece of his liver to the famous artist. Prof. Dr. Onur Yaprak, the organ transplant specialist at the hospital where he is being treated, stated that the famous actor's health is improving, saying, "Ethics Committee approval has been obtained for the compatible donor, and we are counting down the days for the surgery."
There are encouraging developments regarding the health status of Ufuk Özkan, one of Turkey's beloved actors.
Özkan, who is undergoing treatment for liver failure, has seen improvements in his health values, and a donor has been found for the transplant. Organ Transplant Specialist Prof. Dr. Onur Yaprak and Organ Transplant Coordinator Dr. Faculty Member Esin Gülkaya Anık shared the latest status.
VALUES IMPROVED, RISK DECREASED Prof. Yaprak stated that the medical treatment applied to artist Özkan has yielded positive results, saying, "When Mr. Ufuk was admitted to our hospital, his liver failure score (MELD) was at 22. With the medical treatments we applied, we achieved a significant improvement in his overall condition and managed to reduce this score from 22 to 14."
SET FRIEND BECAME THE DONOR Prof. Dr. Yaprak announced that the search for a living donor, which was conducted simultaneously while the treatment was ongoing, has also concluded. He noted that the donor is a friend of Özkan from the industry, stating, "The first candidate among the former colleagues is cameraman Salih Kıvırcık, who has previously worked with Mr. Ufuk on a series. He was found anatomically suitable in the tests and received ethical committee approval. We are planning the transplant operation in the coming days."
