A striking statement came from MasterChef judge Somer Sivrioğlu, who is claimed to have supported the boycott call made on April 2 and closed his shop. Regarding the issue, Sivrioğlu stated, "I do not support the general protest; I do not find the boycott appropriate in such an economy."
After the call for a boycott by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, a general boycott decision was made on April 2. In addition to the boycott covering media outlets and brands, the scope of the boycott was expanded by stating, "We are not consuming on April 2." Famous names supporting the boycott had made consecutive posts on social media. One of these names was said to be MasterChef judge Somer Sivrioğlu.
DID SIVRIOĞLU SUPPORT THE BOYCOTT?
Somer Sivrioğlu's shop being closed on April 2 and his post saying 'Sorry. We are closed' was interpreted as support for the boycott. Today, however, rumors emerged in the gossip columns that Somer Sivrioğlu was fired from MasterChef due to his boycott post. Following these claims, the famous chef made a statement through his manager and denied the allegations that he supported the boycott.

Sivrioğlu stated, 'I do not support the general protest, I do not find the boycott right in such an economy.' Somer Sivrioğlu's manager also said that the claim of 'Somer Sivrioğlu was fired from MasterChef' is false.

Moreover, Somer Sivrioğlu's manager denied the claim that the famous chef's shop was closed on April 2, stating that Sivrioğlu had just returned from Australia on the day of the boycott and that their shop was open.
