While the whole world anxiously awaits a possible attack by the US on Iran, it has been learned that US warplanes have been deployed to a military base in Jordan. In response to the possibility of using Jordanian territory for an attack on Iran, Jordan stated that this would not happen.

Jordan's state television Al-Mamlaka reported on a statement made to The New York Times by an unnamed Jordanian official.
According to the report, the official, who stated that "Jordanian territories will not be used for an attack against Iran," noted that his country hopes the ongoing negotiations between the US and Iran will result in a political agreement that keeps the region away from war.

Other unnamed Jordanian officials also told The New York Times that the US military presence in Jordan is under the framework of defense agreements between the US and Jordan.
The newspaper also wrote that countries like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates support the negotiations aimed at preventing war between Washington and Tehran and reaching a diplomatic solution.
According to Al-Mamlaka television, other unnamed officials also stated that they do not want the territories of these countries to be used as a launch point for any military operation against Tehran.
The New York Times had reported on significant US military preparations at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan. The report noted that there was increased activity in US military areas and that fighter jets and military equipment were being amassed.
Jordanian sources stated in an interview with the newspaper that the fighter jets and equipment were deployed there as part of a defense agreement with the US. The sources said that Jordan would not allow Iran to be attacked from its territories.
