Major indices in the US stock market closed mixed on Thursday.
The blue-chip Dow lost 85 points, or 0.26%, to end the day at 32,726, while the S&P 500 dropped by three points, or 0.08%, to 4,151.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq, on the other hand, gained 52 points, or 0.41%, to 12,720.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 1.7% to 21.57. The 10-year US Treasury yield decreased 3.2% to 2.659%.
The dollar index was down 0.77% to 105.69. The euro was up 0.8% to $1.0246 against the dollar.
Precious metals reversed course, with gold adding 1.6% to $1,793 and silver rising 0.8% to $20.21.
The global oil benchmark Brent crude was at $93.86 per barrel for a 3% loss, while the US benchmark West Texas Intermediate slipped 2.5% to $88.40. -
