Operating with the vision of leading Turkey's digitalization, Vodafone has completed its preparations for the 5G service that will start on April 1. Vodafone, which is preparing to increase the number of countries where it provides 5G services to 23, including Turkey, will start providing 5G signals simultaneously in 81 provinces and 922 districts on April 1. Vodafone will also organize special campaigns to facilitate the transition of its individual and corporate customers to 5G. Accordingly, a discount of up to 50% will be offered on selected 5G-supported phone models for 6 days. Vodafone customers will be gifted unlimited free internet for one day of their choice for 4 days. The efforts made by Vodafone for the transition to 5G and the new campaigns were introduced at a meeting hosted by Engin Aksoy, Chairman of the Executive Board of Vodafone Turkey. During the meeting, live connections were also established with Turkey's 7 regions to gather information about the 5G efforts in those areas.
Engin Aksoy stated:
“As Vodafone, we are the number one mobile operator brand providing 5G services in the most countries worldwide. On April 1, we will be providing 5G services under the Vodafone brand in a total of 23 countries, including Turkey. With our belief in the digital future of our country, we have expressed from day one that Turkey deserves this technology. We position the transition to 5G as a result of our global experience and a comprehensive 5-year preparation process. By providing 5G signals simultaneously in 81 provinces and 922 districts on April 1, we will largely realize our Ministry's goal of spreading 5G nationwide within 2 years from the very first day as Vodafone. This will be the largest 5G launch in the world in terms of coverage and number of users.”
Engin Aksoy summarized the preparations made in the Vodafone network over the last 5 years as follows:
“With the contribution of our 15,000 direct and indirect employees along with our ecosystem, we successfully completed a preparation period of over 5 years. In the last year, we strengthened our infrastructure by covering 10 million km across the country. This means traveling from one end of Turkey to the other 6,000 times. We spent a total of 3.4 million hours of labor for the preparations. Thanks to these efforts, we will provide both high capacity and coverage benefits to our 5G customers, as well as experience improvements for our 4.5G customers. As Vodafone Turkey, we have invested over 100 billion TL in our network in the last 5 years, excluding spectrum fees. At this point, as of April 1, we are ready for 5G in all cities and districts from the easternmost to the westernmost parts of our country. This scope not only represents geographical breadth but also our commitment to Turkey's digital future as the number one operator providing 5G services in the most countries in the world.”
Celebration campaigns with customers
Vodafone will organize 2 different campaigns to celebrate the arrival of 5G with its customers. In the first campaign, a discount of up to 50% will be offered on selected 5G-supported phone models between March 30 and April 4. This will be the largest 5G device discount campaign ever conducted in Turkey and at Vodafone. Customers wishing to benefit from the campaign need to visit Vodafone stores between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Discounts will also be available on all 5G-compatible phones in different concepts at the stores. With this campaign, it is aimed to provide over 200 million TL in device benefits. In the other campaign, customers will be gifted unlimited free internet for one day of their choice for 4 days so that they can experience 5G without limits. To benefit from the campaign, it will be sufficient to enter the Vodafone Yanımda application.

Vodafone will also organize a campaign for its Home Internet customers. The most preferred “use anywhere” feature of the product, which requires no installation, will be offered at 200 TL per month instead of 400 TL as of April 1.
3 critical solutions for institutions
Valuing the readiness of its corporate customers for the 5G transformation, Vodafone offers 3 critical solutions to businesses with 5G. These include 5G Customized Mobile Networks, defined as secure and closed-loop communication infrastructure for factories and campuses, RedBox Business Pro, a high-speed corporate internet solution that does not require fiber infrastructure, and next-generation corporate mobile tariffs supported by artificial intelligence that enable high data usage. With these solutions, businesses achieve more efficient production, safer operations, and more agile business models.
Real sector projects with 5G
With strong global experience in industrial transformation thanks to its 5G MPN projects implemented in over 20 countries and 11 years of IoT leadership, Vodafone has turned this experience into concrete applications in Turkey through 5G tests and real sector projects conducted with special BTK permits in the last 5 years. Establishing Turkey's first 5G Customized Mobile Network (MPN) infrastructure, Vodafone has implemented the first commercially used 5G-supported smart factory application in Turkey with BSH Home Appliances. By renewing the Vodafone Business Technology Experience Area located in Turkey's first 5G-supported innovation center MEXT and enriching it with new experience areas such as smart retail, smart urbanism, and smart transportation, Vodafone has created a new center where technology solutions can be experienced firsthand by businesses with the Vodafone Business Tech Hub established at the Gaziantep Model Factory.
5G experience was showcased
During the meeting, a 5G use case was also demonstrated using 5G-enabled hologram technology. The signature of Ceylin Kuyan, one of the captains of the Turkey U19 National Team, was transmitted simultaneously to a robotic arm in the meeting venue from Vodafone Plaza, located 20 km away, thanks to Vodafone's 5G technology. On the other hand, in the experience area set up in the meeting venue, 5G solutions were introduced at booths created with themes such as Mobile Gaming, 5G Customer Benefits, RedBox Pro, Smart Expert Support System, and Safe Driving.
