The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Affairs Directorate (AKOM) announced that strong downpours and storms are expected throughout Istanbul and the Marmara Region starting from 18:00. It was stated that temperatures are expected to drop by 7-9 degrees and that the rainfall is expected to continue until tomorrow morning. HEAVY RAIN IS COMINGAnother warning has come from AKOM regarding the storm and heavy downpours. In a statement made by AKOM, it was noted that "Accordingly, starting from this evening (18:00), the wind is expected to strengthen intermittently, blowing as a storm (50-61 km/h) with strong, short bursts, especially in Istanbul and throughout the Marmara Region, along with strong downpour transitions across the province. TEMPERATURES WILL DROP BY 7-9 DEGREESIt is anticipated that the rainfall will be effective as thunderstorm downpours and local heavy showers (20-50 kg/m2), and that the current air temperatures, which are around 16-19 degrees, will suddenly drop by 7-9 degrees to around 9-10 degrees. The rainfall is expected to continue until Wednesday (tomorrow) morning (09:00). It is important to be prepared and cautious against potential adverse conditions due to weather conditions," it was stated.
