Following Iranian President Pezeshkian's hint at a ceasefire, Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi made a completely different statement. Arakchi said, "We will not accept a ceasefire; we will only accept the end of the war. We are ready for ground operations, and we hope the enemies do not miscalculate. We have not yet made a decision regarding negotiations. We have our own assessments and sensitivities. Our conditions for the end of the war are clear."
The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi delivered strong messages regarding the war with the United States during a television program he attended in his country. Araghchi stated that they are ready for ground warfare and said they would only accept the end of the war.
ARAGHCHI: WE WILL NOT ACCEPT A CEASEFIRE
Araghchi emphasized that Iran is ready for a ground operation and expressed hope that the enemies do not make a miscalculation. Araghchi said, "We will not accept a ceasefire; we will only accept the end of the war."
"WE HAVE NOT RESPONDED TO THE U.S.'S 15-POINT PROPOSAL"
Highlights from Araghchi's statements are as follows: "We have not yet made a decision regarding negotiations. We have our own assessments and sensitivities. Our conditions for the end of the war are clear. We have not sent any response to the U.S.'s 15-point proposal, and similarly, we have not presented any proposal or conditions."
"WE ARE RECEIVING DIRECT MESSAGES FROM WITKOFF"
Claims that negotiations are being conducted with any party in Iran do not reflect the truth. All messages are conveyed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or received by the ministry; communication is also ongoing among security institutions. We are receiving direct messages from Steve Witkoff, the U.S. Special Representative for the Middle East. This does not mean that we are in negotiations. The Strait of Hormuz is completely open. The strait has only been closed to those involved in the war against Iran.
