In the Oltu district of Erzurum, 80-year-old retired worker Mehmet Coşkun put the agricultural tools he had used on his farm for years up for sale on the sidewalk. A philanthropist businessperson, seeing the elderly man sitting on the curb with his tools, did not remain indifferent to this situation and purchased the agricultural tools.
Mehmet Coşkun, an 80-year-old retired worker living in the Oltu district of Erzurum, experienced the heaviest pains of his life one after another.
FORCED TO SELL AFTER LOSING FOUR CHILDREN AND HIS WIFE
The elderly man, who lost four of his children, also bid farewell to his life partner about nine months ago. Left alone, Coşkun had to sell his field some time ago. Wanting to make use of the agricultural tools he had used from the past to the present, each holding a separate memory, Coşkun displayed them on the sidewalk and put them up for sale.
Stating that he has no one left alive, Mehmet Coşkun expressed his loneliness and helplessness by saying, "Instead of these tools rotting away, I wanted to sell them and make some pocket money for myself."
UPON SEEING HIM SITTING BY THE SIDEWALK, HE BOUGHT ALL OF THEM
A philanthropic businessperson, who saw the elderly man sitting with the tools by the roadside, did not remain indifferent. Affected by Coşkun's situation, the businessperson purchased all the tools put up for sale, bringing a smile to the elderly man's face.
The businessperson, stating that he saw Mehmet Coşkun while going to work in the morning, said, "I couldn't bear to see our uncle Mehmet sitting like that on the sidewalk. I bought his tools, which were the labor of years, and sent them to his home. If we could help make him a little happy, how fortunate for us."
After the sale, Mehmet Coşkun bought bread with the money he received and quietly made his way home.
