In Kayseri, known for its delicious dishes like pastirma and meat pide, approximately 1.5 tons of unsealed and unsuitable meat was destroyed in a cold storage facility located inside a barn.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced that approximately 1.5 tons of unsealed and unsuitable meat has been destroyed in the Melikgazi district of Kayseri.
In a statement made on the Ministry's social media account, the following expressions were included: "As a result of inspections conducted by our food inspection teams in Kayseri Melikgazi, approximately 1.5 tons of unsealed and unsuitable meat was detected and destroyed in a cold storage facility located inside a barn."
PENALTY IMPOSED, CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FILED
An administrative fine has been imposed on the business regarding this situation that threatens public health, and a criminal complaint has been filed with the prosecutor's office by initiating legal proceedings. Our inspections continue uninterrupted with a zero tolerance principle to ensure that our citizens have access to healthy and reliable food."
