The knife attack in Paris, the capital of France, has caused a security alert in the country. The attacker, who wounded three women, was captured thanks to the brave intervention of bystanders, and his statement while being taken into custody, "Allah commanded me to do this," became one of the notable details in the investigation.
In Paris, the capital of France, an attacker holding two kitchen knives assaulted three women in the street. The incident occurred in the Porte de Clichy area, injuring three women aged 19, 24, and 36, with two of them reported to be seriously wounded. The attacker was subdued by bystanders and then taken into custody by an off-duty police officer.
WITNESSES INTERVENED WITH A SUITCASE AND A CHAIR
Images shared on social media showed the attacker wielding two large kitchen knives as he assaulted the women. Nearby citizens threw a suitcase and a chair to stop him. The suitcase, thrown by one person, caused the attacker to drop his knives, and he was then pinned to the ground and neutralized. An off-duty police officer who arrived at the scene then arrested the attacker.
French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez praised the courage of the citizens and the police officer who stopped the attacker.
SHOUTED "ALLAH COMMANDED THIS"
According to authorities, the attacker stated during his arrest, "Allah commanded me to do this." However, Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez noted that the suspect's statements during the incident were incoherent, and the motive for the attack has not yet been definitively determined.
Some witnesses claimed the attacker specifically targeted women and said, "Allah sent me to kill women."
THREE PEOPLE INJURED, INCLUDING A PREGNANT WOMAN
The injured women were reported to be aged 19, 24, and 36. Local authorities stated that one of the victims is pregnant, and although two women were seriously wounded, their lives are not in danger. The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.
TERROR POSSIBILITY BEING EVALUATED
It has been reported that the French National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office is assessing whether the incident should be investigated as a terrorist act. However, at this stage, the investigation is being conducted by the Paris Prosecutor's Office, and the exact motivation for the attack remains unclear. Authorities have stated that inquiries into the suspect's identity and mental health are ongoing.
