Stating that "Mr. Öcalan is preparing to make a historic call," Hatimoğulları said, "This call is made to close a period shaped by conflicts in Turkey and to open the door to peace and democracy... The winner will not only be the Kurds; all 85 million will win... Are you prepared to reduce the 100-year-old Kurdish issue from a regime of violence and conflict to a legal basis? We urgently call on the government to fulfill its duty. There cannot be a one-sided peace. It is essential for the government to announce its plan. Are you afraid of peace? We are aware that our job will not be easy after a possible call. As the DEM Party, we are ready to walk this path. We are committed to producing solutions on this road," she stated.

Responding to the operations against municipalities, Hatimoğulları said, "It is a political coup. City consensus is the formula for living together. How can consensus be a crime? On one hand, you will say 'peace,' and on the other hand, you will record city consensus as a reason for detention. We will never accept this," she expressed.

Reacting to the prison sentence given to Abdullah Zeydan, Co-Chair of the Van Metropolitan Municipality, Hatimoğulları continued: "This decision disregards the will of the Van people. The government is clearly sowing seeds of discord. The first attempt was made when the certificate of election was given. The government is looking for an excuse to turn back from dialogue. Our struggle to build peace will continue against you."
