In the Darıca district of Kocaeli, a cleaning worker named İbrahim Ada found a cargo bag at the base of a tree while working at a chain supermarket. Suspecting its weight, he opened it and discovered it contained 60,000 dollars (approximately 2.5 million TL). Ada handed the bag full of money over to the police. He stated, "At that moment, I never had any bad intentions. I handed it over without thinking."
İbrahim Ada, who works at a chain supermarket in the Bayramoğlu neighborhood of Darıca district in Kocaeli, demonstrated an exemplary behavior.
NOTICED IT WAS FULL OF MONEY JUST BEFORE THROWING IT AWAY
While working as a cleaning staff at the supermarket, İbrahim Ada noticed a cargo bag left at the base of a tree in front of the market. As he picked up the bag to throw it in the trash, he saw that it contained money and reported the situation to the authorities of the supermarket he worked at. The bag full of money was handed over to the Darıca District Police Department Central Directorate.
"I NEVER HAD A BAD INTENTION"
Sharing his experience, İbrahim Ada said, "I came to work in the morning and was cleaning. I picked up the bag to throw it in recycling, but I noticed its weight. When I opened it, I saw that it was money. I immediately showed it to my manager. We checked it together and without wasting time, we handed it over to the police. Later, we learned that the owner was found. They counted the money at the police station, and it turned out to be 60 thousand dollars. At that moment, I never had a bad intention. I handed it over without thinking." The owner of the money came and thanked me," he said.
A GIFT FOR THE CLEANING STAFF
Yakup Berk, the representative of the contracting company responsible for the cleaning work of the chain supermarket, said, "Mr. İbrahim noticed the bag while cleaning and immediately informed the management when he saw that it contained a large amount of money. Then, the police were called, and it was handed over with a report. It was determined that there was 60 thousand dollars after counting. We thank Mr. İbrahim for his sensitivity. Our Chairman of the Board, Veysel Cingöz, has also conveyed his thanks," he said.
