After MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's statement regarding the "Terror-Free Turkey" process, saying "If necessary, I will go to İmralı," CHP leader Özgür Özel was asked, "Will the CHP go to İmralı?" Özel responded, "It is right for us to either join or stay out of the commission and to disrupt any kind of game. From now on, we will announce the decisions we make with our authorized bodies."

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel visited Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is in prison in Silivri. After the critical visit, CHP leader Özgür Özel made important statements to the press, and he was asked, "Will CHP go to İmralı?"

WILL CHP GO TO İMRALI?

Özel responded to this question, saying, "I must say this from Bahçeli's perspective; they applaud when he throws the rope, and they stand up when he says he will go to İmralı. What Bahçeli said yesterday was conveyed to Erdoğan. I have not seen the answer to this. Within this process, he will measure the depth of the stream for the MHP, expecting to benefit from the resolution of this process while completely withdrawing himself from putting his hand under the stone. Just like in the past. Tayyip Bey's comfortable political space is over, let him know. I will cross this stream, but first, let the MHP members go in; if the stream drowns them, let them drown, we will stay dry. Then let’s ask Özgür Bey the question that is not asked of Tayyip Bey. The expectation is that everyone should talk, and we should not. Let’s have a closed session on Friday, and let’s not show this to the public. The benefit of this work is mine, let the damage be shared. This is the calculation, the public sees this. I want to see Tayyip Bey's and the AK Party's attitude; we are also discussing politics with Ekrem Bey, and we are catching up. Our observations are also common. It is right for us to enter the commission, to stay, and to disrupt all kinds of games. From now on, we will announce the decisions we will make with our authorized bodies."

BAHÇELİ: I DO NOT SHY AWAY FROM GOING TO İMRALI

MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli, during his party's group meeting, made statements regarding the meeting he wanted to hold with Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı, saying, "I will take three of my friends with me; I do not shy away from going to İmralı with our own means, nor do I hesitate to meet face to face around a table," which made headlines in politics.

ERDOĞAN: BAHÇELİ'S STATEMENTS ARE BRAVE

Following Bahçeli's statements, President Erdoğan made a statement on the matter, saying, "MHP Chairman Mr. Bahçeli has made unique contributions to the process reaching this point with his brave, visionary statements since day one. We have also guided the process by walking on a sensitive line. We have overcome many known and unknown difficulties. I find it extremely valuable that the commission works in unity of thought and purpose. I appreciate the contributions to our country's democracy and unity, and I wholeheartedly congratulate our Speaker of the Parliament and the commission members. It appears that the next meeting will be held on Friday in light of yesterday's evaluations. The time has long come to rid Turkey of the terror plague that has turned into a great burden on its back. We need to crown the struggles with a terror-free Turkey. The responsibility for this lies on your shoulders, dear deputies. It is crucial for every member of parliament and all political parties to play significant roles in establishing a climate of peace. As the AK Party, we want to carry this process, which we approach on a non-partisan basis, to its destination."

DEM PARTY SUPPORTS BAHÇELİ

DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan responded to MHP leader Bahçeli's statement, "If necessary, I will go to İmralı." Bakırhan said, "It is extremely important and commendable. Saying that if the commission does not go, I will go shows the courage to take a historic responsibility. The Parliamentary Commission must make its decision and go to İmralı without losing a single day."

"WE WILL GO TO İMRALI AS SOON AS POSSIBLE"

MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız stated that a vote will be held on the matter in the Terror-Free Turkey Commission on Friday, saying, "Then we will go to İmralı as soon as possible." Yıldız also stated, "This week, on Friday, the commission will meet at 2 PM with the agenda of going to İmralı."
