Following the insults directed at Atatürk, President Erdoğan, and Prophet Muhammad, an investigation has been initiated ex officio regarding the artificial intelligence application "Grok" on social media platforms. While it remains uncertain whether access to Grok will be restricted, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated, "There is no access restriction to the AI Grok, but we can block it if necessary. We will discuss it with X."

The artificial intelligence tool Grok of microblogging site X has started to insult users. It was observed that Grok, which hurled insults at President Erdoğan, also insulted the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an ex officio investigation regarding the matter. The prosecutor's office started the investigation on the grounds of "publicly degrading the religious values adopted by a segment of the public," "insulting the President," and "violating Law No. 5816 on Crimes Committed Against Atatürk."

A NEW STATEMENT FROM THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE

It was said that access to Grok has been restricted. Following the investigation announcement, the prosecutor's office made another statement. The prosecutor's office clarified that it was not Grok that was restricted, but rather the insulting content shared that was blocked. The prosecutor's office stated, "No access restriction has been imposed on Grok by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; on the contrary, access has been restricted to the links containing insults produced by Grok, and this situation has been clearly stated in the relevant court decision communicated to you."

GROK MADE A STATEMENT

A statement was also made from Grok's official X account. Grok stated that they have started to remove inappropriate posts. In a post made through X, the company said, "We are aware of Grok's recent posts and are actively working to remove inappropriate content. After being informed about the content, xAI took action to prevent Grok's hate speech," it stated.

MINISTER URALOĞLU: WE WILL BLOCK IF NECESSARY

While it remains a question whether access to Grok will be restricted, a statement regarding the discussions also came from the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.

Minister Uraloğlu said, "There is no access restriction on the artificial intelligence Grok, but we will block it if necessary." He stated that discussions were held with X and that a decision to remove more than 50 pieces of content was communicated to the company.
