BROKEN, INJURED, AND DISPERSED FORMS CARRY THE TRACE OF RESISTANCE
The child figures emerging from the fragmented surfaces remind us of bodies that resist existing within the ruins. Broken, injured, and dispersed forms carry the trace of resistance, not annihilation. The layered structure used by Aydoğan makes both the destruction of the city and the multiple layers of memory visible. The voids in the painting signify not only loss but also the emptiness of remembering and the possibility of re-existence.
