A group of 12 activists set out to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza on the Madleen ship against Israel's blockade, but they were intervened by Israeli security forces in international waters. After the operation, some activists were sent back to their countries shortly, while the remaining 6 were taken to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv to initiate deportation procedures. Among these individuals were Turkish citizen Şuayb Ordu and German citizen Yasemin Acar.
THEY WERE RELEASED
Activists Şuayb Ordu and Yasemin Acar, who were deported by Israel, arrived at Berlin Brandenburg Airport in Germany. Supporters of Palestine presented flowers to Ordu and Acar and chanted slogans in support of Palestine.
"WE WILL NEVER STOP"
Yasemin Acar made a striking speech at the airport. Acar stated, "We will never stop. We will continue. Because silence is complicity in crime. Because every child buried in Gaza is a cry that the world ignores," and added, "And since justice is not a slogan but a duty, we will break the silence from the streets of the world to the ruins of Palestine, we will expose the lies. We know we stand on the right side of history."
WHAT HAPPENED?
As part of the last mission organized by the civil society organization called the "Freedom Flotilla Coalition" to break the blockade on Gaza and deliver aid to the region, the 18-meter ship set sail for Gaza from the Port of San Giovanni Li Cuti in Catania, Italy, on June 1.
The Israeli army intervened in the Madleen ship, which aimed to break the blockade on Gaza, in the early hours of June 9 and detained the 12 volunteers on board.
The volunteers were brought to Israel, and 4 of them were deported from the country on the morning of June 10.
