Due to the urban transformation of his home, master actor Zihni Göktay has moved into a nursing home and responded to claims in the public eye that his daughter is "not taking care of him." Göktay stated that he moved to the nursing home of his own accord, saying, "The weight of human flesh is heavy. A house cannot be built on top of another house."
Master artist Zihni Göktay moved to a nursing home in Maltepe due to the urban transformation of his home. Addressing the public perception of being "abandoned," Göktay stated that his daughter insisted on taking care of him in his own home, but he personally declined this offer.
HE RESPONDED TO CRITICISMS OF "NOT TAKING CARE OF HIS FATHER"
Emphasizing that he is extremely happy in the nursing home and is being well taken care of, the artist also reacted to the criticisms regarding his daughter, stating, "She is not taking care of her father." Göktay said these comments do not reflect the truth and summarized the reasons for his decision with the following words:
"HUMAN FLESH IS HEAVY, A HOUSE CANNOT BE ON TOP OF ANOTHER HOUSE"
According to a report in Habertürk; Göktay expressed, "Human flesh is heavy. A house cannot be on top of another house. I am happy in the nursing home." He mentioned that he feels uncomfortable with the criticism directed at his daughter despite her request and stated that the comments made on this matter are unjust.
