Operation against ISIS in Istanbul! 110 suspects were arrested.

Following the martyrdom of three of our police officers in Yalova, consecutive operations against ISIS are being carried out. In an operation targeting 114 addresses across three provinces centered in Istanbul, 110 suspects were apprehended. It has been noted that the suspects in custody are connected to the attackers who carried out the assault in Yalova and that they may attempt a similar attack on New Year's Day. In an operation conducted in Ankara, 17 individuals were detained.

Operations against the terrorist organization ISIS continue. Following the martyrdom of 3 police officers in a clash that broke out yesterday in Yalova, new raids were conducted today.

As part of the investigation carried out in Istanbul, simultaneous operations were conducted at 114 addresses in three provinces. In the raids that started at 01:00 at night, 110 suspects were detained. Teams are continuing their efforts to capture 5 suspects.

SOME OF THE DETAINEES ARE LINKED TO THE ATTACK IN YALOVA

An announcement was made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the operation.

In the statement, it was noted that 41 of the detained suspects were assessed to be connected to the individuals who carried out the attack in Yalova. It was also recorded that there was information suggesting that these individuals might attempt a similar action on New Year's Day.

The Chief Public Prosecutor's statement included the following expressions:

  • "(32) suspects identified as operating in our province as supporters of the terrorist organization, who are conducting illegal lessons/discussions, engaging in activities to gain support for the terrorist organization under the guise of illegal mosque activities, collecting money under the names of fitra, zakat, and infak to be used for the purpose of opening training and madrasa for individuals affiliated with the terrorist organization in camps controlled by opposing terrorist organizations in Syria, and who have been found to be conducting propaganda activities through social media platforms, have been identified as individuals who are subject to the measures of Article 135 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Interception and Recording of Communications) and Article 140 (Monitoring with Technical Means),
  • (41) suspects assessed to be connected to the individuals who carried out the heinous attack in Yalova and for whom there is information suggesting they could attempt similar attacks on New Year's Day in our province,
  • (13) suspects indicated to be connected to the terrorist organization with evidence found,
  • (14) suspects identified as making pro-terrorist organization posts on social media platforms,
  • (15) suspects identified as Foreign Terrorist Fighters (YTS) who are considered a threat to our country, as they are linked to terrorist organizations defined by international institutions and organizations, and who have been found to have connections to conflict zones;
  • A total of (115) suspects were targeted for capture, and simultaneous capture, detention, search, and seizure operations were conducted at 114 addresses in our province and (2) different provinces as of 01:00 on 30/12/2025, resulting in the capture of (110) suspects. Efforts to capture the other suspects are ongoing."

17 SUSPECTS DETAINED IN ANKARA

A new operation against the terrorist organization ISIS was also carried out in Ankara.

As part of the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 17 suspects, including 11 foreign nationals and 6 Turkish citizens, were detained.

In the prosecutor's statement, it was noted that the members of the organization were deciphered through the examination of the seized digital materials. It was recorded that the processing of the detained suspects at the police station is ongoing.

3 POLICE OFFICERS MARTYRED IN YALOVA

Security forces conducted an operation at a location in Yalova yesterday, and a clash broke out when the suspects responded with firearms. In the clash, 3 police officers were martyred, and 9 people were injured, including 8 police officers and 1 guard. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 6 terrorists were neutralized.
