The wolf attack that occurred in Bostankara Village, located in the Digor district of Kars, has left a family that relies on livestock for their livelihood facing significant hardship. While the local community mobilized to address this suffering, a truckload of sheep was brought from Cedere village in the Arpaçay district to support the family.
In the Digor district of Kars, a wolf entered the sheepfold belonging to Ali Canpolat (67) during hours of heavy fog and attacked the flock of sheep inside. The incident, which was also captured by security cameras, shows the wolf entering the sheepfold around 02:00 and exiting at 04:37, having killed approximately 200 sheep.
THE DAMAGE IS VERY GREAT
Ali Canpolat, who has been raising small livestock for about 30 years, stated that they encountered such an event for the first time. Canpolat said that his loss is significant.
MOBILIZATION HAS BEEN DECLARED
Business people from Kars city center, surrounding villages, outside the city, and different provinces, as well as non-governmental organizations and charitable citizens, mobilized to support the affected family. The villagers of Arpaçay Cedere announced that they delivered 30 sheep they collected to Ali Canpolat. A citizen who shared a video of the moments they took the sheep stated, "May God accept everyone's good deeds. Neither that man knows us nor do we know him. This is all we could do. We are doing this without expecting anything in return."
