The lifeless body of an elderly man, who had been missing for 6 days in Çorum, was found in a river, placed in garbage bags after being dismembered. While the head of the elderly man could not be found, one suspect related to the case has been detained.
SEARCHING FOR 6 DAYS
According to the information obtained, 76-year-old Ali Osman Kaya, who resided in Ulukavak Neighborhood, was last heard from after leaving his home on January 28 at noon. Following a missing person report filed by his relatives, a search operation was initiated. As a result of the investigations conducted by the Homicide Bureau of the Çorum Provincial Police Department, it was determined that Kaya was last seen in the Çatak Nature Park area. The search efforts, which have been ongoing for 6 days, were concentrated in the area where Kaya was last located by the Çorum Provincial Gendarmerie Command and AFAD teams.
FOUND DISMEMBERED
On the 6th day of the search efforts, as a result of the work carried out by AFAD search and rescue teams, AFAD volunteers, Çorum Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams, Çorum Provincial Police Department teams, and 12 vehicles consisting of NGOs, 45 personnel, and tracking dogs, Kaya's lifeless body was found in the riverbed of the Çatak Nature Park area, placed in garbage bags after being dismembered. In the searches conducted in the area, the head part of Kaya's body was not reached.
1 PERSON DETAINED
As a result of the investigations conducted by the Homicide Bureau regarding Kaya's death, it was determined that Kaya got into a vehicle with the license plate 19 AK 799 after leaving his home. A suspect named A.F.K. (43) has been detained in connection with the case.
The teams continue their search efforts in the area to find the head part.
