In a house fire in the Buca district of Izmir, an 11-year-old child with Down syndrome lost his life.
A child with Down syndrome, aged 11, lost his life in a fire that broke out in a house in the Buca district of Izmir.
DOWN SYNDROME CHILD DIED IN FIRE
According to the information received, a fire broke out in the apartment on the ground floor of a four-story building in the Göksu neighborhood. Upon notification, fire, health, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While the fire was extinguished by the teams, it was determined during the investigation that Eymen A.Ç. (11), who had Down syndrome, had lost his life.
FIRE BROKE OUT WHILE PLAYING WITH A LIGHTER AND CANDLES
The child's body was taken to the Izmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy after the investigation at the scene.
It was learned that the mother, Emine Ç. (54), who was in the house during the fire, stated that the fire broke out while her son was playing with a lighter and candles while she was cooking, and that she tried to get her child out of the room but was unable to do so due to the flames growing rapidly.
MOTHER AND OTHER CHILD ESCAPED AT THE LAST MOMENT
It was recorded that the mother stated she went outside with her other child, aged 14. An investigation has been initiated regarding the cause of the fire.
