The regulation regarding the increase of the lowest pension, which concerns nearly 5 million retirees, to 20,000 TL has been published in the Official Gazette and has come into effect.
The Law on Amendments to Certain Laws and the Decree Law No. 375 has been published in the Official Gazette.
With the regulation made in the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law, the minimum monthly payment amount set at 16,881 lira for those receiving old-age, disability, and death pensions, as well as their beneficiaries, has been increased to 20,000 lira starting from the payment period of January 2026.
ADDITIONAL CALENDAR TO BE ANNOUNCED
Retirement pensions are deposited into bank or PTT accounts between the 17th and 26th of each month, according to the last digit of the allocation number. SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees received their January pensions based on the current amount of 16,881 TL since the law has not yet been approved. For those with a base pension exceeding 17,827 TL, the portion corresponding to a 12.19% increase has been deposited. The difference of 3,119 TL resulting from the upcoming regulation will be deposited with an additional calendar.
