The President of the Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO), Seyit Ardıç, stated that the green passport regulation should be implemented for industrialists to be more effective in global markets, saying, "The issuance of the green passport should be prioritized."

ASO PRESIDENT'S "GREEN PASSPORT" CALL FOR INDUSTRIALISTS

The ASO Assembly and the Entrepreneurial Committees of Ankara's 2nd and 3rd Organized Industrial Zones (OSB) came together at a joint meeting held in the ASO Assembly Hall. ASO President Seyit Ardıç made evaluations regarding current economic developments during the January assembly meeting. Reminding of the legislative proposal that foresees the issuance of green passports to engineers and architects who have completed their 15th year in the profession, Ardıç emphasized that a similar regulation should also be implemented for industrialists. Stating that industrialists are constantly in contact with foreign countries for production, investment, and export, Ardıç also highlighted that delays in visa processes weaken competitiveness, stating, "Loss of time leads to loss of opportunity, which in turn leads to loss of market. In a period where global competition is so fierce, industrialists do not have the luxury of losing time."

"THE ISSUANCE OF THE GREEN PASSPORT SHOULD BE PRIORITIZED"

Emphasizing that today's SMEs should be viewed as tomorrow's major exporters, Ardıç stated, "In addition to the current export performance, concrete indicators such as employment level, industrial registry, and capacity report should also be taken into account in the issuance of the green passport."

Ardıç expressed that not only export performance but also criteria such as employment level, industrial registry, and capacity report should be considered in the issuance of the green passport, noting that they expect the regulation to be supported by the common will of all political parties.
