The singer Ebru Gündeş's husband, businessman Murat Özdemir, was detained as part of the investigation into the "Selahattin Yılmaz Criminal Organization" conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Özdemir was taken into custody at his villa in Acarkent and was brought to the courthouse today after completing his procedures at the police station. He was released after his statement to the prosecutor's office.

As part of the extensive investigation conducted in Istanbul, there had previously been numerous detentions and arrests related to the organized crime group allegedly led by Selahattin Yılmaz. During this process, Özdemir's name was also included in the investigation file.

According to allegations, Murat Özdemir was said to have exerted pressure on certain organized industrial zones based on instructions received from the leader of the criminal organization, thereby gaining profit. After being detained, Özdemir provided a statement at the police station and was referred to the prosecutor's office once his procedures were completed. He was released without any arrest or judicial control following the prosecutor's questioning.
