On a ferry operating the Eminönü-Üsküdar route in Istanbul, a person jumped into the Bosphorus for an unknown reason.
WITNESSES CRIED OUT
Passengers who saw the individual struggling in the water began to shout. A crew member on the ferry threw a life buoy to the person floundering in the water, while the passengers warned him to swim. Everyone mobilized for the person in the water.
ANOTHER BOAT CAME AND RESCUED
Some passengers suggested that the individual take off his jacket, while the man tried to swim towards the life buoys. After a while, another boat that arrived in the area rescued the individual from the water, allowing everyone to breathe a sigh of relief. Those moments were captured on a mobile phone camera.
"WE WENT AND GOT HIM, THANK GOD WE SAVED HIM"
A person on the ferry said, "We were going like this. We were at the back of the ship, against the direction of travel. Someone jumped. We didn't realize he had jumped or fallen. I just started shouting when I saw the man in the water. I asked if someone had fallen from the ship, if he had a friend. The captain turned around. We went and got him, thank God we saved him. I wish everyone well."
