In the Aksu district, where 190 kilograms of rain fell per square meter, 3-year-old Berra Berhu fell into a channel where rainwater was being drained while playing with her siblings. The child's lifeless body was retrieved from the channel.

The Meteorology 4th Regional Directorate has issued a "yellow" code warning for heavy rain and storms in Antalya, where the downpour that started at night has continued to intensify. Due to the rain, the main arteries of the city were flooded last night, manholes overflowed, and drivers faced difficult moments. Some citizens who went out at night took shelter at bus stops. Many vehicles were stranded on the roads in the central districts of Konyaaltı and Muratpaşa.

In the Boztepe neighborhood of Aksu district in Antalya, 3-year-old Berra Berhu, the child of a Syrian family working as laborers in a greenhouse, fell into a canal where rainwater was being drained while playing with his siblings. Following the family's report, AFAD and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the area. After approximately 45 minutes of searching, the girl was found inside a culvert. Health teams determined during their examination that the child had lost her life. Police teams are continuing their investigations at the scene.

According to the latest 24-hour rainfall report from the Meteorology, the place with the highest rainfall in Turkey was Aksu district of Antalya, with 190 kilograms per square meter. Following Aksu, Muratpaşa district received 185.4 kilograms, Kepez 156.8 kilograms, Kemer 127.2 kilograms, Serik 110 kilograms, Manavgat 92.3 kilograms, and Döşemealtı 83.2 kilograms of rainfall in the last 24 hours.

It is expected that the effective rainfall across Antalya will continue until the end of next week.

WATER REACHED BRIDGE LEVEL

The rainfall that has been effective for two days in Serik district has negatively impacted life. Puddles formed on streets and roads. Some drivers tried to proceed with their vehicles on the sidewalk. A collapse occurred at the back of an unused two-story warehouse. Some crops in greenhouses and gardens were also submerged. The gardens of some sites and villas were filled with water. In Çandır neighborhood, a truck got stuck in the mud by the suddenly rising water level of the stream. The water level in Acısu Stream reached the level of Belek Bridge. Teams worked on the greenhouse waste accumulated in the streams due to the current.

In Kemer district, floods occurred in some streams. Due to the accumulated water on streets and roads, many vehicles were stranded. In Kuzdere neighborhood, the AFAD team rescued a driver stranded in a water-filled vehicle. Personnel in a hotel shuttle that was stuck on the road were also moved to a safe area with heavy machinery. Many homes and businesses were flooded. At Adrasan Beach, waves dragged tree branches and debris onto the walking path.

84 PEOPLE WERE RESCUED

In Antalya, in the last 24 hours, AFAD teams responded to over 700 reports made regarding homes and businesses. 84 people stranded were rescued by AFAD teams. Water drainage work is ongoing in many homes and businesses. The Taşkent-Alanya highway was also closed to traffic due to snow and blizzard.

One person who came to the beach waited a long time among the waves to enter the sea but could not get into the water.
